The Funko brand celebrates its 25th anniversary by reissuing its first POPs

Funko is used to celebrate the anniversaries of licenses as it should be. We think of course of the wonderful sets like the ones released for the 10 years of Game of Thrones, the 20 years of Harry Potter or even more recently for the 100 years of Warner Bros and the 100 years of Disney. This time, it is its own birthday that the Vinyl figurines brand is celebrating!

Indeed, the year 2023 marks the 25th anniversary of Funko, half a century during which the brand has spread around the world by offering figurines of the most popular licenses such as Star Wars, Disney, Marvel, ... but also by immersing us in different universes such as sports, TV series or music.

For the occasion, Funko has unveiled a brand new series of POPs called "CLASSICS" which will highlight the original successes with re-editions of the first figurines now "vaulted". Funko opens its vault containing the rarest figurines and offers for its 25th anniversary the opportunity to collect these POP in a 2023 edition more modern but faithful to the codes of the original figurines.

The very first character chosen is none other than the Dark Knight of Gotham: Batman. This POP is a re-edition of the very first Batman POP figure, so unless you plan to spend a few thousand euros, you can console yourself with this new figure!

On this POP, Batman is represented in one of his most classic costumes in gray and black. The only touch of color is brought by his yellow belt. He stands in an equally classic posture with his tight wrists. Unlike the very first Funko Batman POP, the vigilante is presented on a (removable) base that pays homage to Funko's early days with the words "Year One" and the POP logo. The base is also decorated with buildings reminding the Gotham skyline with the last detail the bat logo lit in the sky!

Note that the POP Classics will be accompanied by goodies. Funko has revealed the ones that come with this Batman figure (but they will be the same types): a pin, a coin and a trading card.

Finally, these POPs have a unique sticker for the 25 years of Funko as well as a unique design on the box to remind the "strongbox" of Funko.
