Four new releases have been announced for November 2026, and not a single one is a standard figure. Funko is launching a Ride, a Deluxe and two Mini Moments, each built around a specific scene or object from the movie. Including a bubble filed under vehicles.
A saga that has reached the end of its theatrical run
Wicked: For Good was released in November 2025 and grossed more than $540 million worldwide, the best result ever recorded for a Broadway musical adaptation.
What followed was less impressive. While the first movie earned ten Academy Award nominations, the second received none at the 2026 ceremony. And no third installment is planned: the teams have instead discussed an adaptation of The Marvelous Land of Oz, another book set in the same universe.
This wave is therefore arriving after the movie franchise has effectively wrapped up. That probably explains the approach: Funko is no longer trying to cover an entire cast, but rather to produce display pieces.
Glinda in her bubble, filed under vehicles – POP #154
The best idea in the wave, and the funniest one on paper.
Funko classifies this release as a Pop! Rides, the line normally reserved for figures paired with a vehicle: race cars, Formula 1 cars, the TARDIS, camper vans. Here, the vehicle is a pink soap bubble.
In practice, the classification makes perfect sense. The bubble is Glinda's mode of transport, the way she arrives and leaves during her public appearances, and the very first shot of the movie shows her descending from the sky inside it. Funko is technically right on every count, and the result is still funny.
The size follows suit, at around 15 cm, making it significantly larger than a standard figure.
Elphaba Thropp as a Pop! Deluxe – POP #2173
The logical counterpart comes in another oversized format: a Pop! Deluxe standing more than 17 cm tall, the largest piece in the wave.
Funko presents the figure as a dynamic display piece and describes the character in straightforward terms: a witch of considerable power, trained to serve the Wizard of Oz, then rejected after defending the rights of Animals. The description sums up in one sentence what the first movie spends two hours building toward.
The Deluxe format allows for staging that the usual 10 cm figures simply cannot offer. For a character whose visual identity is built around a levitating silhouette with her cape blowing in the wind, that is hardly unnecessary.
Two Mini Moments, two songs
The final two releases belong to the Mini Moments line, small dioramas featuring Pocket POP figures in a specific scene. Each one includes Glinda and Elphaba, and each refers to a particular song from the movie.
- Ozdust Ballroom – POP #2174: the ballroom scene. Elphaba arrives wearing the ridiculous hat Glinda gave her out of spite, dances alone while everyone watches, and Glinda eventually joins her. It is the exact moment when the movie shifts and their friendship begins. Funko sticks to the phrase « Dance the night away », which is an extremely polite way of summarizing the cruelest and then most touching sequence of the first movie.
- Glinda & Elphaba – POP #2175: the second piece recreates the other cornerstone of their relationship. The official description begins with « Learn to be popular », leaving no doubt about the song being referenced: the one in which Glinda sets out to give Elphaba a makeover while explaining how to become someone people admire.
The two pieces complement each other. One shows the moment when Glinda stops mocking Elphaba, while the other shows the moment when she decides to take her under her wing. Displayed together, they tell the story of a friendship in two stages.
What to look for
This wave is not aimed at collectors simply trying to complete a character lineup. None of these four releases is a small add-on figure: each takes up space and comes with the price tag of a special format.
The Glinda Ride is the most distinctive piece, and probably the one people will talk about most, if only because of its classification. The two Mini Moments work as a pair and make more sense collected together than separately. Pre-orders are open, with the release scheduled for November 2026.
