Voldemort occupies three different bodies in this wave, and Funko numbered them in order. A face stuck to the back of a skull, a newborn in a traitor's arms, then the full Dark Lord with his snake: #226 to #228 tell the story of his return, from the first book to the fourth. The first step lands at the right time, since HBO launches its Harry Potter series on December 25.
Step 1: under the turban
Professor Quirrell with Lord Voldemort (#226) shows what the turban hid all through first year. Turn the figure around: Voldemort's pallid face takes up the back of the professor's head, veins and narrowed eyes included. It's the reveal at the end of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, in front of the Mirror of Erised.
Funko already released a Professor Quirrell (#68) in 2018, turban on. This one finally shows what was underneath. HBO's series, whose first season adapts that very first book in eight episodes, cast Luke Thallon as Quirrell.
Step 2: a newborn in a blanket
Wormtail with Lord Voldemort (#227) is the first Pop of Peter Pettigrew. He carries Voldemort reduced to a small, pale, shriveled body, swaddled in a green blanket, the one he lowers into the graveyard cauldron in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. More than twenty-five years after his first appearance, the traitor of the Marauders finally gets his figure, and he gets it as the nanny of the worst wizard of his time.
Step 3: the full return
Lord Voldemort with Nagini (#228) closes the sequence: wand in hand, Nagini coiled around him, jaws open. All three figures are exclusive to the brand's online shop, and they line up side by side in the exact order of the story.
Our take: a perfect Quirrell, a familiar Voldemort
My favorite is Quirrell, by far. A figure with two faces, one of which you only see when you turn it around, is exactly what this character needed. And it arrives a few weeks after the series premiere, just as millions of viewers are about to rediscover the scene. Wormtail follows close behind: his first Pop, with that tiny, shriveled Voldemort in his arms, is both funny and genuinely unsettling.
Voldemort with Nagini convinces me less, for a simple reason: Funko has done it before. A Lord Voldemort with Nagini (#85) has existed since 2019, under the same name. A third step was needed, fine, but the snake wasn't a new one.
And the most spectacular step is missing: the cauldron itself, the moment Wormtail sacrifices his hand and Voldemort gets his body back. Between #227 and #228 sits the best scene in Goblet of Fire, and it would have made a perfect Pop! Moment.
All three figures are up for pre-order, with release announced for January 2027.
