Harry Potter: Funko finally unfolds the Marauder's Map

Five figures have been announced for November 2026, and four of them share the same base. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs are arriving as a complete set, each standing on the Marauder's Map. They are joined by a Jumbo Harry, broom in hand.

A release timed with the franchise reboot

The HBO series arrives in early 2027, with eight episodes dedicated to the first book. Filming wrapped in spring 2026 at Leavesden Studios, and the project is planned to span seven seasons and a decade, through 2037.

That schedule has a direct consequence. Prisoner of Azkaban, the book that reveals who the Marauders really are, will not be adapted until the third season, meaning not before the end of the decade. Funko is therefore getting roughly three years ahead of the screen.

The strategy is hardly surprising. The Marauders have for years formed one of the most active sub-fandoms in the entire Harry Potter universe, with their own fan fiction, their own codes and a popularity that far exceeds the characters' actual screen time. Four boys the movies barely show, yet millions of readers know better than some of the main characters.

Four figures, one map

That is the idea holding the entire wave together. All four figures share a base representing the Marauder's Map, and Funko spells it out in each product description: « Standing atop the Marauder's Map, ready to navigate the halls of Hogwarts. »

Each figure carries the (Marauder's Map) suffix in its official name, and each one explicitly points back to the other three. This is not a group of figures that simply happen to belong together; it is a set designed to be displayed as one.

The choice of base is exactly right. The Map is not just another accessory: it is the object the four of them created together at Hogwarts, the one bearing all four of their nicknames across the top, and the one that gives Harry proof that his father and his friends had a life before him.

The four Marauders, each in their place

Putting all four together on a shelf tells the entire mechanism of the third book without writing a single line. Three friends, one traitor, and a map that eventually ends up in the hands of one of their sons.

Harry as a Pop! Jumbo with his Nimbus 2000 – POP #221

The fifth figure changes both style and format completely.

It is a Pop! Jumbo, standing around 25 cm tall, far above anything in the standard line. Harry wears his scarlet Quidditch robes, with the Golden Snitch in one hand and his Nimbus 2000 in the other. Funko describes him as emerging victorious from a match, which points back to his very first game, when he catches the Snitch in his mouth.

This is the display piece of the wave, and the only one aimed at the broadest possible audience. Where the Marauders speak directly to readers, this version of Harry speaks to everyone.

What to look for

The four Marauders are meant to be collected together or not at all. The visual effect of the shared base only works when they are lined up, and an incomplete set will be immediately noticeable.

If you have to prioritize one, Peter Pettigrew is the figure to secure first. He is the least commercially appealing character of the four, which likely means smaller production numbers, and that is exactly the kind of figure that tends to disappear six months later while the other three are still sitting on shelves. Pre-orders are open, with the release scheduled for November 2026.
