Funko is continuing to expand its Formula 1 range and is going big for October 2026: eight new figures, including a “McLaren Legends” wave featuring Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, Ayrton Senna and James Hunt, plus three Pop Rides Super Deluxe figures with F1 cars. Pre-orders are already open.
Formula 1 is becoming a major part of Funko’s lineup
For a long time, the F1 license remained relatively minor at Funko, with a few standalone Verstappen figures and one or two Rides. That is no longer the case. Following the figures dedicated to Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Toto Wolff, the manufacturer is now rolling out wave after wave and building a genuine collection, complete with its own numbering system.
The timing is no coincidence. Formula 1 has never had such broad mainstream appeal: growing audiences, a huge influx of younger fans, the Netflix series and a successful movie. The stage was set for F1 drivers to join Star Wars and Marvel on collectors’ shelves.
McLaren Legends: Woking takes center stage
The highlight of this wave is the “McLaren Legends” sub-collection, which brings together the team’s current drivers and two legendary figures from its history.
- Lando Norris – POP #19: the 2025 world champion, wearing his papaya race suit and helmet. His first year as reigning champion certainly deserved a figure, and Funko is giving him two of them (see below).
- Oscar Piastri – POP #20: the Australian naturally completes the McLaren duo. A standard POP in racing gear, designed in the same style as his teammate’s figure, for collectors who want the complete pairing on their shelf.
- Ayrton Senna – POP #22: the Brazilian driver is depicted holding his national flag. Three world championships (1988, 1990 and 1991), all won with McLaren, and an iconic status that extends far beyond the paddock. This is the figure likely to appeal equally to longtime fans and newcomers.
These three POP figures are standard models measuring around 10 cm tall, with pre-order prices of approximately €14.
Two Pop Rides Super Deluxe figures with F1 cars
Funko is reserving its most spectacular format for the cars, and the choice of the two models is a smart one.
- James Hunt with the McLaren M23D – POP Rides #157: the 1976 champion behind the wheel of the car in which he narrowly beat Niki Lauda to the title. The Hunt–Lauda rivalry remains one of the most famous stories in motorsport history, while the M23 is one of the most recognizable chassis of the 1970s. A choice clearly aimed at adult collectors.
- Lando Norris with the McLaren MCL39 – POP Rides #158: the car from McLaren’s 2025 championship double, which delivered the Constructors’ title to McLaren and the Drivers’ title to Norris. It is the modern counterpart to the set and probably the most sought-after piece in the wave among current F1 fans.
Expect to pay around €37 for these two releases, as you would expect from the Super Deluxe format.
Verstappen and Red Bull complete the wave
The four-time world champion has not been forgotten, with three releases dedicated to him alone.
- Max Verstappen – POP #17: the standard version in Oracle Red Bull Racing gear, available for around €14 to €17 depending on the retailer.
- Max Verstappen with the Dutch flag – POP #18: a variation celebrating the famous Orange Army. Be aware that this figure is being released in retailer-exclusive versions depending on the market (Entertainment Earth, Fnac), making it significantly harder to find at retail price.
- Max Verstappen – POP Rides Super Deluxe #152: the third Rides figure in the wave, officially licensed by Oracle Red Bull Racing, measuring approximately 13.7 cm tall and priced at around €35 to €37.
A wave that ticks a lot of boxes
This F1 series is better constructed than previous waves. Funko is not simply lining up the current drivers: it is combining today’s champions with two historic McLaren figures while also offering two clearly differentiated price points. A standard POP at €14 for an affordable collectible, or a €37 Pop Rides for a more impressive display piece.
The Senna figure will probably be the first to sell out, for obvious reasons. The Verstappen figure with the Dutch flag may prove more difficult to secure than the others because of its exclusive status. If you are aiming for the complete set, pre-orders are now open and the release is scheduled for October 2026.
