Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Britney Spears, the Duffer Brothers and MrBeast are all being released together. Not under the same license, not in the same category, but in the same line. Funko is launching POP! 250, and it is the first time the company has built a collection without starting from a specific work or franchise.
What the POP! 250 line is
The name comes from a round number: 250 years of pop culture. The same phrase appears on every product page, « Celebrate 250 years of pop culture history », and the collection sits within the broader Pop! Icons range.
The selection criterion is no longer a franchise, but the mark someone has left behind. A singer, a basketball player, a pop star, a showrunner and a content creator do not share the same universe. What they share is the fact that each of them shifted something in mainstream culture in their own era.
Every figure in the line also shares the same finish, called Starlight Deco: a glossy, glittering coating that makes the collection instantly recognizable. Funko has even created a dedicated logo for the line, something the company usually reserves for major structured ranges.
Twenty-six one-of-a-kind pieces to launch the collection
Before the commercial releases, Funko introduced POP! 250 in an unusual way: with twenty-six figures, each existing as a single unique piece.
They were revealed over twenty-six consecutive days starting on June 25, 2026, and the very first honored Benjamin Franklin, sculpted with his bifocal glasses. An 18th-century inventor as the starting point for a collection that ultimately reaches a YouTube creator sums up the concept rather well.
Those twenty-six pieces are not being sold in stores. Funko held a livestream on August 6, 2026 to explain how they could be obtained, and the hashtag #POP250 has served as the main information channel ever since.
The first five commercial releases
The accessible part of the line is arriving now, with five names deliberately chosen from very different fields.
- Michael Jackson: the music icon, released as a Funko Shop exclusive.
- Michael Jordan: the only athlete in the group, tied to the Chicago Bulls sub-license, and the largest format of the five.
- Britney Spears: a defining pop figure of the 2000s, following the same generational-icon logic.
- The Duffer Brothers: both brothers brought together in a single “split” figure, a format Funko uses for inseparable pairings. It is also the only release in the group honoring creators rather than performers.
- MrBeast: the representative of the internet generation, with his briefcase full of cash given a glossy finish, which is a fairly direct way of summing up his content format.
Five releases, five different decades, one single line. That is exactly the point.
An order window, not a retail release
The main thing collectors need to understand before anything else is that POP! 250 does not work like a standard release.
Funko has opened a pre-order window that closes on October 14, 2026. Once that date passes, orders will no longer be possible. Production is based on the number of reservations, and shipping will then be spread over several months: December 2026 for MrBeast, February 2027 for Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan and Britney Spears, and March 2027 for the Duffer Brothers.
In other words, these figures will never sit around on store shelves. They will only exist in quantities determined by how many people reserved them before the deadline, making it impossible to catch up later anywhere except the secondary market.
It is a mechanism Funko is using more and more often, and it changes the buying logic completely: instead of waiting for stock to appear, collectors have to make a decision before a deadline.
What this line signals
POP! 250 is worth watching beyond these first five releases for two reasons.
The first is conceptual. By building a line around cultural impact rather than around a catalog of licensed properties, Funko is creating a space that almost anyone could theoretically enter. Twenty-six one-of-a-kind pieces and five commercial releases are not an endpoint; they are an opening move.
The second is commercial. A line with a distinctive finish, its own logo and a closed ordering window contains all the ingredients of a collection buyers will want to complete. And the lines people want to complete are usually the ones that last.
Pre-orders are open until October 14, 2026. Tick tock, tick tock!
