Funko is releasing a two-figure pack dedicated to the Random Access Memories era, scheduled for November 2026. It is the third Daft Punk pack in the catalog, after Discovery and Alive. And it is the one that closes out the timeline.
The third pack in a chronological series
Funko is not treating Daft Punk as a single group identity, but as a succession of eras. Each pack represents a specific period, complete with the helmets and outfits that defined it.
The first covered Discovery, the 2001 album and its original gold and silver helmets. The second, Alive, refers to the tours and the pyramid stage. This third pack focuses on the Random Access Memories era, with its glittering suits and dark visors.
Three packs, three periods, released in the order in which they originally followed one another. For once, a collectibles line is following an archival logic rather than chasing immediate commercial appeal.
Random Access Memories, the album that went against the grain
Released on May 17, 2013, the album did exactly the opposite of what people expected from two robots.
Rather than piling up samples and loops, the duo brought in musicians and had them play. Nile Rodgers on guitar, Giorgio Moroder telling his story, Pharrell Williams on vocals, Paul Williams, Julian Casablancas, Todd Edwards, Chilly Gonzales. The electronic side was largely limited to a few modular synthesizers, drum machines and vintage vocoders.
Thomas Bangalter summed it up in one sentence: « We wanted to do what we used to do with machines and samplers, but with people. » Two men dressed as machines making an album against machines is exactly the kind of deliberate contradiction that great records are built on.
The results followed: number one in more than twenty countries, 3.2 million copies sold by 2014, and five Grammy Awards including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for « Get Lucky ».
The final helmets
What gives this pack its real weight is what happened afterward.
Random Access Memories remains Daft Punk's final studio album. The duo announced their split on February 22, 2021, after twenty-eight years together, through an eight-minute video titled « Epilogue ». No other studio album came between 2013 and that announcement.
The helmets represented here are therefore the ones Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo wore during their final public appearances: the « Get Lucky » video, the Grammy Awards, and their shared performance with The Weeknd in 2017. After that, nothing.
A Discovery-era figure represents a moment in their career. This one represents the ending. That is not quite the same thing on a collector's shelf.
What to look for
The pack works perfectly well on its own, but it makes the most sense displayed alongside the previous two. Three boxes, three eras, and an entire career represented across six figures.
For anyone who owns nothing from the line, this remains the strongest entry point: it represents the duo's most recognizable era, the one that reached the widest audience, and the one where their story came to an end. Pre-orders are open, with the release scheduled for November 2026.
