Funko had not released a single Doctor Who figure since 2019. Now the series is making a sudden comeback with a full wave: four Doctors, River Song, a TARDIS Pop! Rides Deluxe and an exclusive bronze Dalek with its own Chase variant. Pre-orders opened on August 28, with deliveries scheduled for October 2026.
Seven years of silence, then everything at once
The Doctor Who license had been completely dormant at Funko. The last releases came in 2019, with the wave dedicated to the Thirteenth Doctor. Since then, nothing, even though the series has changed showrunner, international distributor and Doctor twice.
This comeback therefore comes at the right time, and Funko has not treated it as a simple relaunch. The sculpts are new, including for Doctors that had already been released in the past, and each figure refers to a specific scene or accessory from the series. That is what sets this wave apart from the Doctor Who releases of the 2010s, which were often limited to fairly generic poses.
Four Doctors, four instantly recognizable moments
- Ninth Doctor – POP #1963: Christopher Eccleston in his 2005 outfit, with a dark jumper and his hand extended. The gesture that helped relaunch the entire series in its very first episode. The Doctor haunted by the Time War gets a much more detailed sculpt than his previous POP.
- Eleventh Doctor – POP #1966: Matt Smith with a blue shirt, red bow tie and sonic screwdriver in hand. It is hard to imagine a more recognizable look for this incarnation, who spent three seasons reminding everyone that bow ties are cool.
- Fifteenth Doctor – POP #1967: the big new addition to the wave. This is the very first Funko figure of Ncuti Gatwa, wearing his outfit from The Church on Ruby Road, with blue jeans and a long brown coat. The Doctor born from bi-generation is finally joining the collection.
- Tenth Doctor: David Tennant completes the wave with a detail fans will spot immediately: a translucent hand in the middle of regeneration. It references the final scene of The End of Time, the famous “I don’t want to go” moment. Funko has rarely been this literal with one of its references.
These standard figures stand around 10 cm tall and are currently listed for approximately €14 to €16 on pre-order.
River Song and her blue diary – POP #1964
Alex Kingston appears in her outfit from The Husbands of River Song, the 2015 Christmas special: utility belt included, but most importantly, she is holding the blue TARDIS-style diary.
That diary is one of the most significant objects in the mythology of modern Doctor Who. It contains the entire relationship between River and the Doctor, experienced out of order by the two characters, and gave us one of the most famous “Spoilers!” in British television. Putting it in the figure’s hands instead of using a generic accessory is exactly the kind of detail that makes a difference on a collector’s shelf.
Expect to pay around €14 for this release.
The TARDIS in Pop! Rides Deluxe format – POP #318
The display piece of the wave. The Tenth Doctor is stepping out of the police box with his sonic screwdriver in hand, in a 16.5 cm Pop! Rides Deluxe format.
One detail is worth watching out for, as several price comparison websites have it wrong: reference 93133 is sometimes listed under the name “Jack Harkness”. This is a catalogue error. The official Funko product is indeed Pop! Rides Deluxe TARDIS with Tenth Doctor, number #318, announced at $29.99 with shipping scheduled for October 16, 2026. In France, retailers are listing it for between €32 and €38.
The bronze Dalek and its silver Chase – POP #1968
Funko has reserved the Dalek for its own store. The standard version is a metallic bronze Time War Dalek, and it comes with the possibility of receiving a metallic silver Chase variant, with a one-in-six chance.
A store-exclusive Dalek with a 1-in-6 Chase ratio is exactly the kind of release that can rise quickly in value on the secondary market. No official retail price has yet appeared at French retailers, which further suggests that distribution will be limited.
The wave Whovians have been waiting for
This series ticks a lot of boxes: three Doctors from the modern era, the first Ncuti Gatwa POP, a major supporting character, a Rides format and a Chase variant. Funko has clearly decided to make up for seven years of absence in a single wave.
The Fifteenth Doctor and the bronze Dalek are the two figures to prioritize, for opposite reasons: the first because it is a debut release, the second because it is likely to be difficult to find. Pre-orders are now open, with the release scheduled for October 2026.
