Released in 2014, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 owes its success in part to its soundtrack, which is a selection of pop and rock songs from the 1960s and 1970s that reflect the retro-futuristic aesthetic of the film's universe.
The soundtrack includes songs such as Blue Swede's "Hooked on a Feeling," Redbone's "Come and Get Your Love" and Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," which have become staple classics that fans enjoy humming.
Among all the Guardians of the Galaxy POPs, this new figurine is totally different since it is in the POP Albums category. We find naturally the cover of the compilation with the cassette "Awesome Mix vol.1" which Star-Lord never gets rid of. In front of the cover, we find Star-Lord's POP, represented dancing and singing with such an effect that we really have the impression that the figure is waddling on the sounds of the 70s!
Funko has put all the effort into making an ultra detailed Star-Lord figure. We find the character, under the features of Chris Pratt, with his naive look, his hair combed back, his posture when he dances and of course the many accessories of his outfit: his long coat, his boots and of course his vintage walkman, an antique souvenir of his time on Earth.
While the vol. 3 of the Guardians of the Galaxy has just been released in theaters, it's a very nice surprise to discover this POP Albums tribute to the compilation "Awesome Mix vol. 1". By the way, did you know that the soundtrack of the movie won a Grammy Award? It is deserved!
