The world's most famous duck turns 90, and Funko couldn't miss the occasion. The brand has just unveiled brand-new POP figurines paying tribute to the character, depicting him in various appearances and attitudes.
Fans of the character and of Disney will appreciate these Funko POP 2024 Donald Duck figures, as this is a character whose latest POPs are a little dated, even though he's very popular. Here are a few new features to mark this special anniversary.
4 new Donald Duck POP figures
For this announcement, Funko is paying tribute to Donald Duck by unveiling 4 POP figures, all featuring this single character, but in which we discover him in different attitudes and costumes each time.
Celebrating nine decades of existence of Disney's somewhat grumpy duck, this range is as lively and varied as Donald's personality. The announcement line-up is as follows:
- POP #1442 of Donald Duck in "1938" version: a perfect POP for Disney purists who will be able to find the character depicted in his studio debut (although his first appearance dates back to 1934) with his sailor suit ;
- POP #1443 of Donald Duck's temperament, a trait that perfectly describes the grumpy character!
- POP #1444 of Donald Duck in an elegant suit, not quite as well-dressed as his Uncle Scrooge, but still;
- Finally, POP #1445 of Donald Duck with hearts in his eyes, reminiscent of the scenes where the character falls under the spell of something.
All in all, there are now more than twenty POP figurines featuring Donald Duck in various collections, since the character appears in so many different places: from the Kingdom Hearts game, to the POPs from the Disneyland Resort, to the more "classic" sets from Disney Animation or Mickey and Friends, he can be found in so many figurines!
The grumpiest duck, but the most endearing?
Donald Duck quickly made a name for himself with his strong character: grumpy, often flippant, but with a big heart... If he's always grumbling, he often finds himself (despite himself) in the craziest situations, giving him a particularly endearing side.
Another characteristic of the character is his pinched-nose accent! Just looking at the POP figures presented by Funko, I can hear the character's voice making little noises...
Well surrounded, the character has a whole family and friends with whom we follow Donald's adventures. Whether it's his fiancée Daisy Duck, his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, or his miserly Uncle Scrooge! With this whole universe, we can only hope that Funko continues to revisit Donald Duck with new POPs of him and his loved ones.
