POP Velociraptor (Jurassic Park)

The velociraptor, also called by its diminutive the raptor, is one of the dinosaurs at the center of the Jurassic Park movie. Less large and imposing than its T-Rex counterpart, the velociraptor nevertheless plays an important role, particularly because of its intelligence and its group hunting method, which will make the adventurers stuck in Jurassic Park sweat!

In fact, it is one of the most fascinating creations of the park made by John Hammond, who succeeded in re-creating many dinosaurs using the DNA found in fossilized mosquitoes. Among the park's dinosaurs are many species including velociraptors.

Jurassic Park pays tribute to the raptors for their superior intelligence, especially in the scene in the film where they are seen playing hide-and-seek with Hammond's grandchildren in the kitchens of one of the park's restaurants. The velociraptors show amazing brain ability to hunt in packs, surrounding the children, but also physical abilities as they even manage to open the doors!

The velociraptor is very swift and agile, leaning on its muscular hind legs while it gutted its target with its front claws. In Jurassic Park, the scene where the raptors surround Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler, until one of them even jumps on the huge fossil hanging effortlessly. Their physical abilities and intelligence allow them to attack bigger prey than themselves, as the film also shows.

The POP of the velociraptor is very successful since we find many physical details of the dinosaur. First of all, its face, with its sharp white teeth, large yellow eyes and pink tongue. Its body is representative of the raptor: a large body and very small front legs! We also note the very fine details of the scales and a beautiful color with a gradation of color, especially on the neck.
