Harry Potter is the main character of the eponymous novelist saga which relates his adventures as a young sorcerer. He was born on July 31, 1980 in Godric's Hollow. His parents James Potter and Lily Evans were murdered by the terrible wizard Voldemort who was trying to kill Harry, convinced that Trelawney's prophecy indicated that he had the power to kill him. Harry survives Voldemort's spell, which turns on him and reduces him to a being without a body. From this attack, Harry has only a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead, which will make him very famous in the world of wizards. Following the assassination of his parents, he is entrusted to his only remaining family, the Dursleys. The Dursleys raise him without love, and he lives a hard life until he is 11 years old.

Shortly before his eleventh birthday, Harry receives a letter from Hogwarts, a witchcraft school. The Dursleys tear up all these letters until on Harry's birthday, Hagrid, a half giant, visits him with a birthday cake. Hagrid tells him the truth about the death of his parents, whom he thought had died in a car accident. He hands him the Hogwarts letter and reveals to Harry that he is a sorcerer. Harry will then enter this prestigious school of magic. Hagrid accompanies him in the purchase of his school supplies, offers him an owl named Edwidge. It is the beginning of the adventures of the young sorcerer.

When he arrives at Hogwarts, he becomes friends with Hermione and Ron, two young apprentices whom he meets on the train leading to the school, the Hogwarts Express. He will spend his first Christmas at Hogwarts with Ron. As a gift, he receives a sweater from Ron's mother, but also a gift from a mysterious giver: a cloak of invisibility. This object allows its owner to go unnoticed!
